A Final Farewell

Cardholders, family, and friends:

Thank you for your early and continued support of Final, and for being a part of this journey with us.

We have some news to share about that journey - today we’re announcing that we have started the process of shutting down our card portfolio, and will be closing all Final Visa® Credit Card Accounts in the coming weeks. We appreciate your understanding, and know that any message about this would be imperfect, but hope this note offers information and consolation to our cardholders and compatriots alike.

Building a new credit card from scratch, hearing your stories of credit card woes and helping to power more secure card payments over the last few years has been exhausting, enthralling, and rewarding. We knew some of the challenges we’d face in the formative years of Final, but found more and more along the way. And now, we’ve come to realize that we are unable to continue to support and grow Final going forward.

To that end, we’ve recently sent an informational email to all cardholders with details of our shut down plan. To hit the highlights:

  • We are no longer accepting applications for Final
  • Final Cards will be turned off soon, but existing cardholders will continue to be able to access their accounts to redeem rewards, make payments, and download statements in the coming months
  • Final Credit Card Accounts themselves will be closed in the months to follow. Accounts will continue to be reported to the bureaus in accordance with payment behavior (fully paid and those paying as agreed will be reported positively while those with delinquent or non-payment standing may be reported adversely)
